Our holly tree encased in ice.
What a spectacular sight it was to see the sun shining through the glistening trees!
An unfinished Cockscomb block from many years ago. Some day . . .
A frozen bush, lol!
Another block from 1981.
. . . and a block in My Best Applique quilt.
Here's North Country on the sofa . . .
. . . and a detail of one of the blocks.
But I'll end it here as I still have more shopping to do, do you??

The ice photos are beautiful, if frigid looking! And so are those applique blocks. Love this post, perfect for the season. No more shopping, thankfully.
ReplyDeleteYour red and green blocks are so pretty and so is the ice as long as you don't have to go out. Shopping done, wrapping, no.
ReplyDeleteFabulous blocks !! And shopping is done fortunately for me !!
ReplyDeleteOuf !! :))
Just lovely red/green pieces! We are also encased in ice here with howling winds this morning..our wind chill is 5!! Definitely staying inside...hugs, Julierose
ReplyDeleteBeautiful blocks, beautiful photos! I'm glad I'm in South Jersey where we just got rain and flurries! Now when I'm off next week and don't have to deal with an hour commute to work I'd be happy to have some ice and snow!
ReplyDeleteLove seeing your "old" blocks! They are classic and sure are beautiful! I hope the ice is gone!!
ReplyDeleteThese are beautiful winter blocks to go along with the season.
ReplyDeletewonderful photos of the iced trees and bushes. We have the same here in CT. I also really loved see those beautiful blocks.
ReplyDeleteYour best Applique block is gorgeous and North Country looks handy for a winter nap :)
happy to say my shopping is done but not wrapped.
Oh how beautiful! I do love an ice storm if it isn't too destructive. Your holly looks so pretty under a blanket of glass. I really love seeing those blocks from your 1981 quilt. I think I still have a few of those greens tucked away in a box. You did a remarkable job creating a vintage look with the fabrics that were available then. Aren't we lucky now? (well, er... maybe not. It does tax the budget!) Merry Christmas and thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteYour quilt blocks are beautiful, as are the photos. I must say though that as beautiful as it is, I can do without ice storms.
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas!
