County Fair and Anniversary Heart

We hadn't been to a county fair in years so when friends invited us to go with them last Friday evening, we couldn't resist! We hit lots of traffic en route due to the President's arrival at his NJ Golf Course but we made it--eventually!

All my husband was interested in were the balloons and food, lol!

Pretty wagon with its pink wheels and flowers :)

And of course, you know what I was interested in--quilts! Evening Star Quilters had a lovely display.

I Got the Blues

Made by the "Sewciopaths"--clever name!
Karen Anderson, Kathleen Scale, Theresa Schoonover, Cynthia Smith

This was a Moda Block of the Week called Moda Blockheads 2. There are 52 blocks by various designers and Solvai chose to make her quilt using all solid fabrics.

I made this heart for Rachel and her husband who were celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary.

I decorated a manila shipping tag with pretty paper and a 'quilt' stamp on one side . . .

. . . and color-copied the fabric for the reverse side. Congratulations, R & T!

How cute are they???

Have a great week!

  3. Oh what fun! Thanks for sharing the fabulous quilts with us! I didn't do the Moda Blockheads 2 as I didn't like many of the patterns. Solvai's version is sensational and has made me realize I need to be more tolerant and creative when it comes to sew-a-longs. What a sweet gift for your friends. We just celebrated our 42nd anniversary and my husband the clown said it really takes 50 years before you know if it is going to work out!

  6. There's something wonderful about a county fair and the quilts that are included. They really are the roots of quiltmaking
