Almost Made It

This is the first time I haven't had a finished mini to post but I do have the top done! Last week I showed you several new projects that I'd been working on. . .

. . . and thought this was an option to consider for a border on these 16-patches but it just didn't do it for me!

So I went back to my original idea and added the border strips from my thrift shop find for the top. I hope to quilt it in an orange peel design but didn't quite get there yet. As soon as it's done I'll post another photo.

In the meantime I thought you'd like to see a few more 16-patch scrappy quilts from the past.

2019 mini . . .

. . . and another in 2020.

Summer Scraps in 2016 . . .

. . . and Potluck 2015/16 :)

How's this for a gorgeous sky?

Enjoy your week and I'll see you next time!

  1. Oh my Barbara, there is never any pressure to finish one. I think a start is as good as a finish and this one is super!! Scrappy quilts are my favorites. I have always adored your 2020 mini!

  2. Well, it is summer and with so much going on I think you're going to have company in the mini not completed department! Thanks for all the eye candy though, it's always a delight to visit your blog.

  5. I know I usually love all that you do, but my eye goes to the light parts of border rather than to the center where all the work is. My opinion only. If you see something different no problem. Thanks for listening.

    1. Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment. I saw a "formal" border stripe juxtaposed with scrappy squares. Quite a contrast. But the light border also picked up the light squares in the center so I felt it all worked. Not my favorite but it made good use of that thrift shop fabric :)

  6. No timed finishes in this group. 🙂 You've got a fabulous 16 patch series going. You've used up a lot of tiny squares.

  8. Love your mini quilts. The one with the trees in front of the 16 patch and the last picture are my favorites but they are all wonderful. Mini August is lovely too. ;^)
