This month's mini started with four 5" squares . . .
. . . that were in with a pack of 125 that I got at the 'you know where' :) Such playful designs and perfect fall colors.
I cut each square in half and inserted a strip between the two pieces. I couldn't figure out the direction of that green/yellow print so it may be upside down. What do you think??
The falling leaves fabric was another TS purchase. It's quilted in vertical rows with gold thread and I added polka dots for the binding.
All in all it was a fun piece to make and I used fabrics that I never would have considered using up until now.
The finished piece is 14" x 17-1/2".
That's all for now.
See you next week!

It is simply fabulous! We must be on the same wavelength this month as my mini is way out of my comfort zone too. I love the fabrics and it makes me smile that these treasure found their way into your little mini. I have also struggled with the direction of that Jo Morton print. One way it looks sort of like a Fleur de lis and the other way it looks like a moose with sunglasses. Love it anyway! Thanks for another great mini!!
ReplyDeleteLeave it to Wendy to come up with the perfect description for that fabric, you just can't unsee that lol! Those fun fabrics would also make some sweet fall placemats if you have more of them, and you certainly worked your magic with this mini.
ReplyDeleteWonderful mini! I have some of that fabric too and have no idea which way is up!!
ReplyDeleteThank you! So I guess we're safe no matter which way we orient that fabric!
DeleteBravo! Love it! Great use of the fabrics!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much!
DeleteThat is so cute! Hugs,
ReplyDeleteYour TS goodies strike again. A fun fall foursome.
ReplyDeleteI'm so jealous of your thrift shop! I'm going to my local ts tomorrow just to see if I can find anything to quilt with...I highly doubt it though! And even if I do, I'm sure it won't compare to that moose fabric, lol! Love your mini, you are so creative. Jan in MA
ReplyDeleteWhat an ingenious way to feature those squares! I want to go shopping with you!
ReplyDeleteOh, my goodness, what a fun little creation. Great job, Barbara!
ReplyDeleteAnd I laughed at Wendy's description of the Jo Morton print. ;)
It was so smart to cut each of the four picture squares in half. Your mini is terrific! Nothing looks upside down to me;).
ReplyDeleteThat is a good thrift shop!
ReplyDeleteThis is such a delightful and clever mini. Charming scenes of fall :)
So darling!
ReplyDeleteOh, so colorful and cheerful! The label also. 'Love your little quilt so much.
