I finished the quilt top that I started this summer.
I added strips of varying widths to the bottom and top to bring it out to size. It's 72" x 92". I love the "campy" look.
Some of the many fabrics I used and all were pieces that I could cut crosswise on the grain to get at least 20" per strip.
Another view. I have the backing ready to go and today I plan on contacting a longarmer in the next town to set up an appointment :)
I have a small collection of dried flower pics that I hung in the bathroom. All are from thrift shops except the one with a long stem in the blue frame that my daughter gave me years ago.
They make me smile :)
Snakeroot . . .
Chicory . . .
That's all for now :)
See you next week!

I love your "campy" style quilt. I finished sewing mine last week. I was debating about adding some borders and I like how yours look. Why not add more strips! It was a fun pattern to sew and maybe I used up a few pieces?.?? Did you?
ReplyDeleteBathroom walls are great for little galleries! Your scrappy quilt looks very cozy.
ReplyDeleteWhat an array of beautiful fabrics! You've created a wonderful quilt, probably full of memories with each piece. ---"Love"
ReplyDeleteI just love scrappy utility quilts, and this one is perfect for a cabin setting!
ReplyDeletewhat a perfect quilt for your country bed. Our first house had dormers and I've always loved the cozy feel of them.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful fabric study.
Your display of dried flowers is sweet and what a nice vintage feel - great composition.
Is that the same chicory as the coffee substitute?
My favorite kind of quilt! It makes your cabin sing. I too love dried flower arrangements and your framed pieces are lovely. Oh, to be able to browse the thrift stores again. Goodwill is open, but the small (really good) stores have not been open since March. I have made a few donations to their charities because I am sure it has depleted their coffers considerably. Have a great day.
ReplyDeleteWhat a terrific quilt - the kind of quilt that gets better and better with age and use - my kind of quilt - love it! Very special how you have your collection of dried flowers displayed. Making home a home.
