It's A Finish!

The Eagle Medallion that I started assembling in February is now done!

The eagle panel was from Rachel and all the churn dash blocks were made by quilters who participated in Barb V's block swap a year ago. The star blocks were extras I made for Barbara B's Stars in a Time Warp and the framed nine patches were of my own doing.

Barbie long arm quilted it for me in a lovely large floral/leaf pattern.

Close-up.

A corner detail.

The $3/yd backing fabric was a bargain several years ago when our LQS closed.

I put it on the guest bed . . .

. . . and you have no idea how many other quilts are underneath it!

Hope you are enjoying the last days of summer!

  1. What a gorgeous finish! And, there were a lot of "Barb's" involved! Maybe you should call it "Four Barb's and a Rachel" - wink!! It is really stunning. And, I am guessing there are a lot of quilts under that one!

  7. Congratulations on this stunning quilt. You have a block (or 2) of mine in your churn-dash block as I was a swapper. The framed 9-Patch is a great addition to the light background of the Churn-dash blocks. Even the last border is perfect for it. Just stunning! I love it big time. ;^)
P.S. if there's many other quilts underneath it, maybe you should do a bed turning in photos, wink! ;^)

  11. Fabulous finish! Love that it has so many QAL blocks in it. Something that has to feel good! Big smiles at all the quilts buried under the new one. Some day I intend to do the same, but don't have a spare bed just yet.:)

  13. What a fabulous finish! The colors are so pretty and it looks so great on the bed. How wonderful that it contains so many swap blocks! I love it
I'm still mulling over another swap. Mailing has gotten so expensive I've wondered if swappers are up for paying it.
Barbara did a great job quilting.
