What fun! Yesterday I attended an all day Hex-Vex Workshop given by quilting buddy and blogger, Barb V.
Having never done any English paper piecing I thought these large hexies would be a great way to learn. Barb had lots of tips and plenty of creativity to share :)
I brought a large assortment of fabrics with me but chose these patriotics. It didn't take long for me to realize these hexies could become addictive!
During lunch break Natalie's daughter, Laura, wowed us with her Millefiori quilt--all paper pieced!
Cadet Blue & Celestial Stars from last week.
A couple of years ago I used these Cadet blues in several other projects here.
A conversation print with little moon faces from Natalie's collection.
I think this one was from the Millennium . . .
. . . and the red was originally from one piece of fabric which featured strips of conversation prints in red, white, and blue. It's an oldie.
I scrambled today to get the binding on Country Roads so I could join the "Linky Party" on Lori's Humble Quilts blog. Thanks, Lori, for the fun quiltalong!

You've been having some great fun. How lucky to take Barb V. class. It looks like you're well on your way to playing with those hexies. Your stars are looking so authentic. You found some good fabrics in your stash. I'm a few weeks behind, but it shouldn't take too much to get caught up once again. Besides I always find better choices after I look at yours. :0)
ReplyDeleteLucky you to have a class from Barb!
